Senior Tutors 

Mme Véronique 


Mme Véronique has a degree in Education and has done private tutoring for many years in both French and English. She studied in St. John’s Newfoundland but is originally from a French town in New-Brunswick. Mme Véronique is now teaching full time in French in her home province. She loves helping students reach their full potential and has a definite passion for teaching. In her free time, she spends time with her pets and horses and loves to go to her dancing classes. She is available for to tutor K-12 French immersion or core French students in the areas of French language (reading, writing, communication), K- 8 math or other French subjects.

 Mme Nellie 

Mme Nellie is a certified primary/elementary teacher, having completed her studies in Ottawa and Montreal. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Mme Nellie's focus is on the social and emotional well-being of each student in order for optimal learning to take place. She recently moved to Newfoundland from Montreal and is teaching full time at École des Grands-Vents in St. John's.

In her free time, she loves hiking the beautiful trails with her family and dog, spending time by the ocean, and practicing yoga. She is available to tutor K-4 French Immersion or Core French students in French language studies, K-6 English general studies as well as homework support/study organization.

Mme Lauren

Mme Lauren is a full-time junior high French Immersion teacher in St. John’s with almost 10 years of experience. She completed her education at Memorial University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree (French/History), an education degree, and a masters in education. Mme Lauren enjoys spending her free time coaching volleyball and spending time with her dog, Kevin. She loves helping students reach their full potential, whether that is by helping students with general French comprehension or more subject-specific needs. She is available to tutor K-12 French Immersion or Core French as well as K-9 Sciences Humaines (Social Studies), Sciences, and Mathématiques.

Mme Laura

Mme Laura is an experienced educator who currently teaches at l'École des Grands-Vents. She has 10+ years experience as a classroom teacher and has completed a Masters in Educational Leadership. She loves cats, coffee and board games. In her spare time, you can find Mme Laura playing her guitar or working on one of her artistic projects. She is available to tutor all K-6 French Immersion or French-first language subjects. 

 

Mme Jess

Mme Jess is located in Nova Scotia and available for virtual sessions with students from k-9 for all subjects. She has a Bachelor of Arts in French from Memorial University and is now taking a Bachelor of Science in psychology at Mount Saint Vincent in Halifax. She is planning to pursue a career in primary French Immersion education. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time in the kitchen, and traveling.

M. Sebastian 

M. Sebastian grew up in a bilingual household where French was the primary language. He started his official studies in French at 5 years old at Samuel-de-Champlain school where he embraced his Acadian roots, found his love for education, and ultimately graduated. He went on to pursuit his studies in the combined Music-Education program at Université de Moncton. He returned to Samuel-de-Champlain as a long-term supply teacher for K-5 music and a short-term supply teacher in all subjects for K-12. He has since then returned to school as a student in the Power Engineering program. When M. Sebastian isn’t studying, he enjoys spending his time playing guitar in different projects and enjoys listening to all genres of music. He is available to tutor K-12 French Immersion or Core French students in French language studies (reading, writing and comprehension), K-12 English language arts, K-10 Math, and Sciences, as well as Music (theory and dictation).

Fuad 

Fuad is currently a student at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is a graduate of Prince of Wales Collegiate where he completed the Late French Immersion program. He is certified B1 level bilingual, as per the standardized DELF exam. His understanding of the French immersion (FI) curriculum in the province is very fresh, and he has learned many tools and techniques that allowed his success in the program. Fuad is available to help with all French Immersion subjects and looks forward to sharing helpful tips and tricks to make life as a FI student easier!
